Fulton-Montgomery Community College to implement Concourse and streamline curriculum management
Troy, NY March 23, 2010 – Intellidemia, Inc. is proud to announce SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College as their newest client and user of Concourse. Concourse, Intellidemia’s online syllabus management system, is being deployed by FMCC to centralize syllabus management, improve workflow, and enhance the accreditation process. The move to use Concourse is part of a larger strategic initiative to better manage course information and consistency across campus.
Prior to the implementation of Concourse, FMCC had been using a syllabus management process that made significant gains but proved to be time consuming and inefficient for both faculty and administrators. Provost Greg Truckenmiller had this to say about the process:
"Our method included Word templates, email collection, and hardcopy syllabus archival. This provided a large portion of the necessary information, but proved to be too cumbersome. We needed a tool that could alleviate the administrative and faculty burden of managing our syllabi and provide for better organization of the underlying data."
FMCC is now using Concourse to create a centralized repository for all their syllabi. Institution-wide syllabus templates have also been developed to allow instructors to continually update their courses while retaining elements crucial to the accreditation process. As a result, the time and effort used by administrative staff required to process and organize syllabi is being significantly reduced.
Intellidemia’s CEO, Judd Rattner, is looking forward to strengthening the partnership, saying "we are working alongside FMCC to make Concourse an even more valuable solution within their educational fabric. Applications in transfer articulation and assessment are on the horizon as we continually seek ways to aid in the enhancement of the learning at FMCC."
