Concourse isn't replacing your LMS, it's the syllabus enhancement that integrates with your current tools and extends your ability to manage course information from syllabus creation to sharing and analysis. Concourse uses the syllabus as the central organizational theme for course data which allows students, instructors, IT members, and administrators to find up-to-date information easier and faster than ever before.
Get back to the basics. The syllabus by its very nature has a tremendous amount of valuable information including:
- Outlining deliverable schedules
- Communicates expectations
- Demonstrates institutional policies and required statements
- Captures course outcomes used in the accreditation process
- Provides a materials list
- Sets the participation and grading policy
- Supports school and department curriculum
However, much of the value of this information is never realized because syllabi come in many different formats and versions. Even worse, the information is often times locked in paper and cannot be easily shared or analyzed.
Concourse couples the basic syllabus with information from the learning management or student information systems and adds functionality where it didn't exist.
